A mobile phone or cell phone is a portable electronic device that works wirelessly (via radio) based on GSM network and is generally used for long distance personal communications . Portable phones that are not based on GSM network should not be called “mobile”, although they are moved, see below.
Continuous miniaturization allowed today in mobile phones to be more integrated a number of additional functions, eg. Dictaphone, camera and film, Internet access and web camera, GPS, radio and more, resulting in a new kind of mobile phone very “smart”, called smartphone.
